CDSU urges to revamp district hospital, Churachandpur, Manipur

Lamka, Jul 1: Chura-chandpur District Stu- dents’ Union (CDSU) in a memorandum to the Chief Minister called for immediate overhauling of the Churachandpur district hospital which it alleged never got his attention till date despite his Government’s endeavor in bringing utmost development in the State.

Churachandpur district hospital is the most sought after hospital of the State besides the many State-of-the-art and expensive hospitals at the capital city, Imphal. Majority of the patients who came for medical treatment are underprivileged and BPL families who cannot avail those expensive hospitals in the State capital, said the union.

However, to add to our plights and misfortune, the Churachandpur district hospital is lacking in many infrastructural improvement, adequate medical officers, staff etc as per the norms even though it has recently acquired the status and recommendation of International Standard Organsiation (ISO).

Moreover almost all reputed MOs, Physicians, Pediatricians, Surgeon, Opthalmologist etc were transferred without any replacement, leaving the innocent public to their own fate, it said.

In the light of these serious grievances the CDSU called on the Chief Minister to re-instate or replacement of all transferred MO (specialist) within a week and installing of full fledge casualty with the required MO and staff within a month.
